Part of Regina's history

It all began back in 1912 when Robert "Bob" Milne left British Colombia to take advantage of the growing opportunity offered on the prairies. From the day he bought his first dray to his brand new Model "T" truck, Bob Milne set the groundwork for the company's long held family tradition of quality delivery service.

Milne's Truck

After 12 years of making deliveries for Eaton's (mainly groceries), Bob began freighting down the Soo Line to Estevan. Through rain, snow and the odd slide into the ditch, he managed to get his delivery to its destination on time--building a solid reputation within the community he served.

When the railway came through, hauling grocery items was not nearly as lucrative as moving people and their possessions. So, during the '30s, Milne's operated a moving company from a back kitchen at 2118 Halifax St, with a garage that stored four moving vans out back.

As was the custom of the day, Bob's son, Bill began working for his father at a young age. Due to the shortage of manpower available in those days, Bill was able to get an under age permit at age 15 to operate a motor vehicle and help drive Milne's moving trucks. By 1956, the company had joined up with northAmerican Van Lines and was able to build its present warehouse and office building at 1301 Osler Street in 1957. Bill Milne carried on in his father's footsteps. Using the same great entrepreneurial skills, he instigated more new services and, of course, more and more new customers

Bob Milne

From father, to son, now to grandson, Rob, the tradition of Milne's Moving and Storage Ltd has continued to grow. It is no wonder that today, the company can offer customers a successful, quality move built by a century of solid experience in the industry.
